Students who perform in their international pathway courses are eligible for a (AUD) $2500– (AUD) $4000 Swinburne International Excellence Pathway Scholarship.
Other scholarships provided by SUT are the; Swinburne Undergraduate Academic Excellence Scholarship, Swinburne Postgraduate Academic Excellence Award, and George Swinburne Postgraduate STEM Scholarship which are all merit-based awards, meaning that the higher your academic record, the greater the grant you will receive.

Eligibility criteria
To be eligible for an SUT international scholarship, you must;
- Currently be a Student Abroad (citizens of Australia or New Zealand and permanent residents of Australia are not eligible)
- Not be receiving any other form of financial aid from Swinburne
- Meet the criteria for admission to the desired course or scholarship.
- A performance-based scholarship requires a minimum of a 75% time commitment from the recipient. Those who get our most prestigious scholarships must continue to excel academically if they wish to continue receiving those awards.

Scholarships and incentive programs for international students
Swinburne International Excellence Undergraduate Scholarship 2023
Students who show high levels of academic promise (with stellar academic performances) may be eligible for a discount of up to 30 percent (or equivalent).
To be considered for this scholarship, you must have earned the equivalent of a 60 percent grade point average at the Australian level or higher. This award will be considered automatically for all students enrolled in the SUT ELICOS+ program.
Below are some of the ineligible courses under this scholarship;
- Bachelor of Business Administration (double degree) and one-year honours degrees are not included.
- Bachelor of Nursing
- Bachelor of Aviation
- Bachelor of Piloting
- Bachelor of Aviation and Piloting
Furthermore, there is a ten percent discount available for international students from Mainland China, Taiwan, Japan, Korea, Macau, Hong Kong, Europe, the United States, and Canada.

Swinburne International Excellence Postgraduate Scholarship 2023
Similar to the undergraduate scholarship, this scholarship also covers up to 30% full course tuition for Postgraduate studies.
To be considered for this scholarship, you must have earned the equivalent of a 60 percent grade point average at the Australian level or higher. All current ELICOS+ students will be given the opportunity to apply for this grant.
Excluded courses:
- Master of Physiotherapy
- Master of Dietetics
- Master of Occupational Therapy.
There may be other requirements. Discounts of A$2500 are available for students enrolled in either the Master of Information Technology (Professional Computing) or the Master of Science (Network Systems) programs.
Applicants from mainland China, Taiwan, Japan, Korea, Macau, Hong Kong, Europe, the United States of America, and Canada will receive a 10% tuition discount.
George Swinburne Postgraduate STEM Scholarship 2023
New graduate students applying to specific STEM programs may be eligible for a 30% discount on tuition for the duration of their studies.
This award is only open to students enrolling in one of the following programs;
- Master of Professional Engineering
- Master of Business Information Systems
- Master of Construction Management Practice (and combined degrees)
- Master of Construction and Infrastructure Management
- Master of Cybersecurity
- Master of Supply Chain Innovation
- Master of Data Science
- Master of Engineering Practice (all specialisations and combined degrees)
- Master of Financial Technologies
- Master of Information Technology
- Master of Engineering Science (all specialisations)
- Master of Science (Biotechnology)
Further criteria may apply. Students applying from China, Taiwan, Japan, Korea, Macau, Hong Kong, Europe, USA and Canada are not eligible for this scholarship.

Swinburne International Excellence Pathway Scholarship 2023
You will be automatically eligible for this scholarship if you are currently enrolled in our ELICOS+ program and/or have previously obtained the ELICOS+ scholarship.
The pathway course tuition could be reduced by A$2500 to A$4000 if you perform exceptionally well academically.
You must satisfy one of the following requirements to be considered for this scholarship:
- Successfully completing a minimum of three VCE courses (Units 1 and 2).
- A minimum of 60% WAM in Australian Year 11 or its equivalent is required.
- A minimum of 60% WAM on the Western Abbreviated Scale in Australian Year 12 or its equivalent.
- A minimum Australian Grade Point Average (GPA) of 60%.
Note: This award is not open to students from the United States, Canada, or Europe.
ELICOS Undergraduate/Postgraduate Degree (Tuition Refund)
All current ELICOS+ students will be given the opportunity to apply for this scholarship grant.
The major perk about this grant is that your ELICOS fees may be reimbursed in full up to ten weeks into the program.
You must not meet the English language requirement for your primary Swinburne course in order to be considered for this grant. After completing your ELICOS course and enrolling in your primary Swinburne programme, you are eligible for a return of up to A$4400, representing 10 weeks of ELICOS expenses.
This award is open to anybody applying to an undergraduate or graduate program that includes a route course.
